Cache Roofing is seeking experienced roofers specializing in clay, slate, terra cotta, and other tile roofing materials to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. As a Tile Roofer, you will play a vital role in the installation and repair of tile roofing systems on residential properties. This position demands a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring that all roofing projects meet the highest standards of quality and durability.

Pay: $20-$40 per hour, based on years of experience

Wage

Pay: $40,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

• Pay range is $20-$40 per hour, based on years of roofing experience and expertise.
• This is an hourly pay, full-time job. Our desire is for all of our roofers to work 40 hours per week.

Skills

Key Responsibilities:
• Tile Installation: Install various types of tile roofing materials, including clay, slate, terra cotta, and other specialty tiles, to create durable and aesthetically pleasing roofs.
• Roof Preparation: Cut and prepare roofing paper or underlayment to size, securing it to the roof in overlapping strips to create a stable base for tile installation.
• Tile Alignment: Align and overlap tile roofing materials accurately, using tools such as chalk lines, gauges, or visual markers to ensure even and precise placement.
• Tile Securing: Secure tiles to the roof using nails, clips, or adhesive as appropriate for the specific type of tile and roof structure.
• Custom Cuts: Punch holes and make custom cuts in tiles as needed to fit around roof structures, such as vents, chimneys, and edges, using specialized tools.
• Flashing Installation: Cut and fit flashing into angles formed by walls, vents, and intersecting roof surfaces to prevent water infiltration and ensure a watertight seal.
• Roof Repairs: Perform repairs on existing tile roofs, including replacing broken or damaged tiles and ensuring the roof's integrity.
• Prefabricated Sections: Construct and attach prefabricated roof sections, such as tile panels, to rafters and other structural components as needed.
• Waterproofing: Apply waterproofing solutions to roof surfaces, such as sealing around tiles and roof intersections, to prevent leaks and extend the roof's lifespan. Additionally, you may be asked to work on waterproofing projects for decks and other surfaces.
Qualifications:
• This job requires physical skills that include lifting heavy objects, walking on steep roofs up to 60 feet above the ground, working in extreme heat and cold, balance, dexterity, and stamina. Some of our best-equipped roofers have years of experience riding skateboards and playing sports that require excellent balance in outdoor settings.
• Proven experience in roofing, with a focus on clay, slate, and other tile materials, is a plus, but not required.
• Proficiency with roofing tools and equipment specific to tile roofing is a plus, but not required.
• Strong attention to safety.
• Strong craftsmanship with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
• Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy tiles and perform manual labor.
• A high school degree or higher is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license is required.
