The amount significantly surpassed any previous amount, including the 2019 amount of $19,000. This year, the Trustees are pleased to further strengthen the Foundation’s scholarship funding to $31,500. At FRSA’s Spring meetings in Bonita Springs, each of the Trustees received a packet of 31 scholarship applications submitted to the Foundation by the end-of-March deadline. After independently reviewing and scoring each application, the scores were averaged. The Trustees then met at the end of May to award scholarships based on the scoring. Scholarship recipients will be announced in the July issue of Florida Roofing.
Funding for the annual scholarship awards is derived from revenue from the Foundation Endowment as well as from donations to the Foundation specifically designated for scholarships. This year, named scholarships include:
■ Austin Ebersold Memorial
■ Don Springer Family
■ Tom Walker
■ Trent Cotney
And the newly added,
■ Carlos Perez Memorial.
